Hexagonal Floral Border Mosaic

Hexagonal Floral Border Mosaic Design

This mosaic design employs classic hexagonal geometry to construct a large-scale floral motif. The central field consists of uniform light-toned hexagons that extend across the composition, establishing a calm, open ground. At the perimeter, six distinct dark-toned hexagonal clusters punctuate the border, each featuring a warm, earthy-toned centre piece that creates a sharp contrast against the lighter background.

The design relies on the repetition of small-scale geometric units to form a cohesive, symmetrical pattern. The interplay between the light, dark, and warm colour palettes enhances the perceived depth of the layout, while the clean edges of the hexagonal shapes maintain a sharp, defined silhouette throughout the composition.

Design Notes

• Radial symmetry governs the overall arrangement, with six evenly spaced floral clusters anchoring the border.
• Three distinct tonal values — light, dark, and warm — are used to separate the central field, border clusters, and accent centres.
• Each border cluster is formed by grouping dark-toned hexagons around a single warm-toned focal piece.
• Consistent hexagonal unit proportions are maintained across both the central field and the border elements.
• The contrast between the open central ground and the denser border clusters creates a clear visual hierarchy within the pattern.
